The Crystal of Temptation
A potato chip filmed like fine jewellery — every grain of salt lit as if it were a diamond.
Snack advertising shouts. Nobody in the aisle is listening.
Crisps are sold with bright bags, loud music and fast cuts, and every brand does the same thing at the same volume. A premium line can't win that fight — it has to change the register completely and make the product look expensive before anyone reads the price.
Light the salt like a gemstone.
One decision carries the whole film: treat the crystals on the ridge of the chip as jewellery. Macro lenses, slow moves, black marble, a single warm key. The taste test is the only warm human moment in an otherwise cold, controlled world — which is exactly what makes the bite land.
Gold, black and one point of warm light.
The board fixed the palette, the lighting logic and the shot list before production: macro texture first, human reaction second, packaging last. Nothing in the film exists outside that order.

Pre-production
6 beats.
Beat 01The Crystal
Macro on the ridge. Salt reads as mineral, not seasoning.
Beat 02The Object
The chip alone in the dark, treated as a designed product.
Beat 03The Bite
The only fast moment in the film. Crumbs suspended in the air.
Beat 04The Reaction
Eyes closed, bar bokeh behind. Pleasure without a single word.
Beat 05The Pour
The bag tips and the product spills across black marble.
Beat 06The Pack
Packshot. Awaken your instincts.
The chip and the bag were designed before they were filmed.
Ridge depth, seasoning distribution, bag finish and foil reflectivity were all fixed as still assets first. Deciding the product's look outside the timeline is what lets every macro shot in the film match.
One face, one reaction, no dialogue.
The character exists for a single job: to make the product taste like something. She was built as a reference before the shoot so the expression, the lighting and the skin tone stay identical across every cut of the taste sequence.
The last five seconds have to sell alone.
Most viewers only keep the end frame. The floating product shot and the final packshot were built as separate deliverables so they can be lifted straight out of the film for retail, e-commerce and paid social.
